Who Framed Roger Rabbit finally arrived on home video today in 1989, after a June 22nd, 1988 theatrical release.
The long wait was definitely worth it, one of the biggest phenomenons of ‘88 got the priced-to-own treatment and, along with Batman, became one of the biggest stocking stuffers that holiday season.
Other than Gremlins, no other 80s movie changed my life as much as Roger Rabbit. I was obsessed with this marvel of moviemaking for years, and after seeing it in theaters 3 times, I cemented my status as a wannabe amateur armchair animation historian. -Pop
