Starring John Larroquette and Bronson Pinchot on loan from Night Court and Perfect Strangers.
I have a special appreciation for movies that feature TV stars in their prime – that includes most SNL films, or Satisfaction (1988) or She-Devil (1989) and even Hello Again (1987). This is no exception.
However big ratings didn’t necessarily translate to boffo box office – few TV stars successfully made the jump. The prevailing wisdom was that moviegoers didn’t want to pay to see people that they could see for free.
But I’ve always loved catching familiar sit-com stars on the big screen without their live studio audiences. It always felt slightly otherworldly. -Pop
