If Looks Could Kill (1991)

Richard Grieco plays a 26 year old under-achieving teenager who gets mistaken for a secret agent while on a school trip to France.

Spyjinks and adventure ensue.

This is another one of those movies that existed in the twilight time between the 80s and 90s, Grieco channels smouldering kewl dude attitude with a touch of burgeoning slacker self-awareness.

As far as Bonding agents go, it didn’t just stick to the ol’ formula, co-writer Fred Decker et al created a deft satire of 007ish tropes that, like True Lies a couple years later, helped fill a gap in the early 90s when James was in absentia and struggling for relevance.

It still looks good for its age and rightly belongs on the Teen Agent shelf with Never Too Young to Die and The Double O Kid.
