Alley Cat is a stripped-down, no-frills revenge flick where the streets are mean, the justice system is a joke, and the only thing standing between order and chaos is a pissed-off woman with nothing left to lose.
By day, Billie is just a typical young girl trying to live her life. By night, she’s a one-woman warpath, delivering bruises and broken ribs to the street punks who thought they could get away with terrorizing her neighborhood. No capes, no speeches – just a few one liners and some bone-crunching retribution served up with cold efficiency. Oh yeah, she just so happens to be a black belt karate expert. Feels like these vigilante revenge films were the closest thing we had to a steady stream super hero films back then.
If you like your vendettas served lean and mean, Alley Cat is the kind of fancy feast that was made for a sticky-floored grindhouse or a well-worn VHS tape. It’s dirty, it’s nasty, it’s cheap, and it’s got enough backbone to go toe to toe with the Chucks – Norris or Bronson. More proof that a movie doesn’t have to be good to kick ass. And ass, it doth kick.
It’s a crunchy bowl of B-movie kibble that looks good on the shelf with Ms. 45, Savage Streets, or any of the Avenging Angel films.
