100K Facebook Followers?

Just shy of 100,000 followers. That’s a proper video store shelf’s worth of weirdos.

When we started this thing 13 years ago, Facebook was still where you poked high school crushes and posted stuff you didn’t want your parents to know about.

We’ve watched it transform into… Whatever this is now.

Through every algorithm change, and feature adoption, every trend that promised to kill long-form writing, you magnificent bastards kept showing up.

You’ve sat through our deep dives on forgotten VHS oddities. You’ve debated whether The Running Man predicted the future or just got lucky. You’ve shared that Miak post so many times it probably haunts Zⓤckerberg’s dreams.

Some of you have been here since we were seen by just a few hundred film nerds refusing to let the video store die,

This isn’t just more nostalgia meme tourism. It’s a living archive of how films shaped us, warped us, made us who we are. Every comment thread about whether Howard the Duck is actually good (it’s not, but we love it anyway), every shared memory of sneaking into the horror section, every “holy shit I forgot about that movie” moment – that’s the real magic.

Not the follower count, but the fact that 100,000 people still give a damn about keeping this particular flame burning. I salute thee.

The video stores are mostly gone. But the counter-culture? The late-night debates, the ritual of discovery, that specific kind of joy when someone else gets your obscure reference?

Still here.

Here’s to another 13 years of refusing to be normal about movies.

That’s High Fidelity (2000) – John Cusack in one of his top 5 performances.
